Supporting this growth, setting us up for future success, you'll report directly to our Head of Legal for Europe, and will be integral in helping us achieve our future goal of setting up a European Bank.</p><p>Based in Amsterdam, you’ll be a business-oriented Dutch qualified lawyer (or equivalent) seeking an in-house role in a high growth financial technology business with global ambitions. This is a unique opportunity to participate in, and influence, the development of the legal function throughout Europe. You’ll deal with different challenges every day, and continuously switch from detail and hands-on execution to big picture strategy and approach. You’ll bring the requisite good judgement to know when to get things done in-house and when to lean on external counsel; when to stick to the plan or when to pivot; and how to spot and seize opportunity and bring about the best outcome for the business.</p><p>Primarily involved in providing advice and support to all ClearBank Europe stakeholders, including senior management, and across all areas of ClearBank Europe’s operations and strategic initiatives. You’ll specifically help ensure that arrangements with customers, partners, suppliers and existing new products and services meet contractual requirements under payment and related financial services rules. You’ll also have extensive experience in analysing and advising on commercial issues and in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts and terms and conditions in the financial services sector.</p><p>As someone who embraces change, you’ll also be proactive and comfortable in performing a role wide ranging in scope. You’ll be delivery focused, enjoy learning about the operations of the business and its priorities and be able to suggest ways in which the legal team can do things better. </p><p>And you’ll be joining the #14 fastest-growing tech company in the UK, according to Deloitte Fast 50.<br/></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>You will be</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assisting the Group team and ClearBank Europe Head of Legal in building ClearBank Europe’s legal team, including recruitment and developing template legal documents.</li> <li>Leadership of members of the legal team dealing with commercial matters, taking ownership of their management and career progression/development as the function grows.</li> <li>Assisting the Group teamn and Head of Legal in furthering the values, objectives and goals of the legal team.</li> <li>Assisting the Group team with capital calls and share related matters relating to ClearBank Europe</li> <li>Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts with customers, partners and suppliers and supervising similar activities undertaken by junior members of the team.</li> <li>Advising stakeholders (including ClearBank Europe management) on various commercial and regulatory aspects of contracts including material outsourcing contracts and ensuring appropriate advice is given to the business by the commercial legal team.</li> <li>Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and external counsel.</li> <li>Maintaining ClearBank Europe’s template legal document in line with changes in law and regulation and best practice.</li> <li>Assisting the Company Secretary with corporate governance issues as and when required.</li> <li>Assisting with the development and ongoing review of company policies and procedures.</li> <li>Assisting with the expansion of the ClearBank Europe business in Europe.</li> <li>Preparing and conducting legal education on commercial law matter
