Job Description
NBC Universal’s Quality & Project Management team is seeking a Director, Program Management who will be instrumental in evolving our PMO processes and guiding a state-of-the-industry team. This team provides PMO services across large enterprise initiatives within our Technical Operations and Enterprise Engineering Team. Our workflow tools and services are used by all organizations throughout NBCUniversal including our Film, TV, Digital divisions as well are our corporate core organizations across Finance, HR, Procurement and Workplace Experience teams. The workflows and solutions we are delivering are key in enabling NBCU’s business evolution in a fast-changing Media and Entertainment market. This role will have a focus on corporate system strategies and an emphasis on SAP as our foundational system.
- Lead and develop a best-in-class team of Program Managers who are overseeing large-scale programs for TechOps and Engineering. With a focus on SAP strategies
- Train and mentor the team responsible for coordinating multiple teams to deliver on our strategic goals. Provide regular feedback and develop employees for broader roles & responsibilities and growth.
- In partnership with our Portfolio Management team, solidify Program Management processes that allow the team to better prioritize across NBCU businesses, present project status, track budget concerns and high-level timelines and manage risk and resource constraints across teams.
- Work with leaders across Product, Business Operations, Business Solutions and Engineering to guide the teams launching innovative programs for the business.
- Frequent communication across working groups; act as first point of escalation for all customer issues and concerns.
- Drive definition of best practices, processes, documentation, and budgetary discipline for the Program Management team to ensure consistency.
- Work with our Portfolio Management team to standardize our project plan toolset, JIRA / Atlassian workflows and reporting
- Host lean workouts across verticals, as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience in program management managing large-scale technology projects with delivery accountability.
- Minimum of 5+ years of effective staff management along with strong team building skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and stakeholders; must be able to articulate technical concepts and solutions to both a deeply technical and non-technical audience
- Thorough understanding of the end-to-end program life cycle, best practices, and project management methodologies
- Solid organizational skills with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with customers in high-pressure situations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Atlassian suite of products (e.g., Jira)
- Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision
- Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ or Los Angeles, CA. A van service is available for employees commuting from New York City to Englewood Cliffs.
