Truck Driver

Our St. Louis Truck Drivers start at $22.48/hr, and reach $28.93 within 15 months!  

Position Summary

Perform duties required to load and drive a truck to transport materials to and from specified locations.

Essential Functions

• Operate company truck to pick up and deliver customer parts applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area.
• Check ship tickets and materials for delivery, determine pickup and delivery schedule for the day and set up paperwork; accessing information from appropriate individuals about pick-ups and deliveries on route.
• Plan travel routes for shortest distance to destinations.
• Pack, weigh, label, and load customer parts to be delivered in an orderly fashion using a forklift.
• Organize paperwork upon return to company separating delivery receipts and assuring that signatures for deliveries have been obtained.
• Keep accurate records of truck maintenance; inspect truck, and complete inspection checklist and service truck as required to assure that truck is in proper operating condition.
• Use a forklift to load and unload customer parts from trucks,
• Determine the condition of the customer parts before delivery and seek assistance for items needing clarification to ensure that only parts ready for delivery are loaded on the truck and that correct parts are being delivered to the customer,
• Obtain a physical examination in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate Paulo's needs to the customer and the customers' requirements to Paulo in a courteous and friendly manner,
• Assist in performing shipping duties as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• Three months or more in a similar or related position.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

• Commercial Driver's License (Class B; manual transmission, air brakes endorsement)
• Must pass DOT clearing house background check and physical 
• Medical Certificate
• Must be able to obtain a Forklift Certification
