About the role
Amazon.com is looking for a passionate, results oriented Senior Manager of Technical Program Management to lead a team of Product and Program Managers and Operations personnel defining features, product roadmaps, implementation plans and configuring the access controls of World-Wide Customer Service Identity and Access Management. You will be responsible for delivering product features, roadmaps and making the tradeoffs that enable authentication, authorization and access management that enables the hundreds of thousands of workforce users - distributed across hundreds of sites worldwide, internally and externally - as well as tens of millions of customer interactions every year. Amazon Customer Service Identity and Access Management (CSIAM) team in Customer Service Security safeguards the personal information of both our workers and customers by validating that people are who they say they are, and that they access the least amount of data necessary in Amazon’s Customer Service systems. In order to make this happen, our team develops the product roadmaps, engineering platforms and systems enabling access that drives efficiency, enforces least privilege and enables our customers and partners to operate securely by default.
Key job responsibilities
Paramount to our success is the enforcement of least privilege across World-Wide Customer Service and Operations to provide world-class support to Amazon customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and in over 15 languages (and growing). CSIAM is seeking a Senior Security Manager to lead a team of Technical Product and Program Managers and Access Operations personnel responsible for supporting the tools and services that enable account creation, modification and deletion to all of World-Wide Customer Service (WWCS) systems and technologies.
A day in the life
As a manager of managers, you will be responsible for delivering product roadmaps, features, operational budget planning and defining tradeoffs that enable authentication, authorization and access management for hundreds of thousands of workforce users distributed across the globe both internally and externally. Using your high judgement and rich technical background, you will act as the single-threaded leader who dives deep into operations and business verticals to earn trust while maintaining strong relationships with engineering teams to understand where requirements have cross-organizational business and technical dependencies and engage with teams in Fraud and Abuse, Executive Customer Relations (ECR), Legal and other Identity teams to identify existing and newly acquired solutions to enforce least privilege.
Key tasks include:
• Provide formal team leadership over operations specialist, product and program managers
• Communicate plans, status, and critical issues clearly and effectively with senior executives and manage discussions to reach actionable conclusions.
• Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely working with engineering leads to develop security feature plans, including the roadmap, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans.
• Develop growth strategies for the team to scale through business process innovation and automation
• Represent the voice of the customer by identifying macro/micro feature tradeoffs and their impact to the overarching business strategies and goals
• Lead Product/Program development efforts across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Tech, Operations, Legal, and Finance.
• Build strong communication pipelines between Operations, Tech and Engineering to continuously enable growth strategies while driving least privilege access across World Wide Customer Service
• 10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
• 7+ years of technical program management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience managing direct reports
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the business
• Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative and robust solutions.
• Principal-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
