Job Description
The Senior Director of Community Marketing leads Gilead’s integrated community, AHCP, and Community Liaison (CL) marketing strategies to strengthen the HIV Business Unit’s impact across key customer segments and national community touchpoints. This role drives strategic planning, execution of campaigns and tactical plans, deep customer insight generation, and alignment across Treatment, PrEP, and Franchise priorities. A key connector across cross‑functional teams, field leadership, and community stakeholders, this leader ensures Gilead shows up meaningfully in communities while guiding high‑performing teams, optimizing resources, and stewarding budgets to deliver measurable, data‑driven impact across the HIV ecosystem.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Community Marketing Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Set the overall Community Marketing strategy and lead annual plans, campaigns, and budget stewardship.
- Oversee community conferences and key national presence, including Prides, NHTD, and MSA-focused initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with cross-functional partners (HIV Treatment & PrEP Marketing and PA) and lead sponsorship governance
- Build community relationships through field rides, events, conferences, and virtual engagement.
- Lead and support CL Marketing team on POA development, and alignment with national brand objectives.
- Foster Gilead’s HIV leadership narrative while amplifying key community partnership activities
- Partner with Public Affairs to align Community strategy and execution
- Establish KPIs for AHCP & Community Marketing
- Build and maintain key relationships with Community & Advocacy OLs undefined
Leadership, Operations & Budget Management
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across Community Marketing, AHCP Strategy, and CL Marketing.
- Drive operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and consistent execution across the HIV franchise.
- Manage AHCP and CL marketing budgets with fiscal discipline and strategic investment prioritization.
Key Competencies
- Customer & Market Insight (AHCP depth; qual/quant research; advisory boards; analytics-driven decisions)
- Integrated Campaign & Ecosystem Leadership (brand & unbranded; media mix; content orchestration)
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement (advocacy partnerships; conferences; field relationship building)
- Omni Channel Marketing & Field Pull‑Through (CL POA, tools, incentives; cross-functional coordination)
- Performance Measurement & Optimization (KPIs, dashboards, test‑and‑learn; budget ROI discipline)
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA in marketing or related fields preferred
- 10+ years of experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is required.
- Advanced experience with product lifecycle management is desirable.
- An advanced science degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD or an advanced business degree such as an MBA is desirable.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product life cycle management in a variety of therapeutic areas preferred.
- Prior people management experience required.
- Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
