The Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment provides leadership and vision for the design, upkeep, and evaluation of curriculum and assessments. The Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment ensures that Rasmussen University’s Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Competencies are aligned to accreditation standards as well as industry standard certifications. The Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment is responsible for ensuring proper curricular framework(s) and practice(s) that yield the highest standard of student achievement.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply curriculum models and processes that result in the creation of high-quality curriculum that is aligned to job, accreditation, and industry certifications.
  • Own the process of creating academically sound outcomes and competencies that lead to the demonstration of high levels of student success.
  • Design authentic formative and summative assessments that prepare students for their career.
  • Own the Curriculum Design Summit schedule and is responsible for ensuring timely scheduling and execution of approved curriculum projects.
  • Collaborate with Department Deans, Department Chairs, Office of Assessment and Institutional Research, Portfolio Management Team, and other departments to support the creation of high-quality curriculum.
  • Support and contribute to Rasmussen’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Reporting Relationships:

The Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment will report to the Vice-President of Curriculum and Learning Experience. In this position the Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment will oversee the curriculum process and is responsible for the University’s monthly Curriculum Committee. In addition to their work with the VP of Curriculum and Learning Experience, the Associate Director of Curriculum and Assessment will collaborate heavily with product, academic, and operational leadership. 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience designing or supporting curriculum.
  • Master's degree in curriculum, assessment and/or instruction design or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • 1-2 years’ experience running/facilitating curriculum summits.
  • Strong ability to map curriculum at multiple levels of learning.
  • Experience with outcomes-based and/or competency-based curriculum.
  • Experience with large group facilitation.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of current curriculum and design technologies.
  • Requires the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Requires the ability to make sound judgments and take the initiative to make decisions/choices.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals and adapt strategy to changing conditions.
