We are looking for a full-time Lab Assistant to join the team at our Stillwater Clinic.
As a lab assistant at HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater, you will perform laboratory procedures according to established clinic guidelines and other relevant regulations.
All programs and activities are designed to support the short- and long-term mission, vision, goals, and objectives of HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- OSHA training
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- Medical assistant program preferred
Skills required:
- Advanced organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities daily.
- Knowledge of health care field
- Skill in performing assigned tasks appropriately; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures; to project a pleasant and professional image; plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others; apply written instructions and standardized work practices; communicate clearly; and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.
Experience required:
- A minimum of one year customer service experience preferably in health care setting
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities daily
Job Duties - Laboratory:
- Obtains blood and non blood specimens for laboratory testing
- Ensures specimen requirements and integrity are met
- Verifies proper patient identification and correct specimen labeling
- Competently and accurately completes specimen testing for Moderately Complex Laboratory
- Perform quality assurance testing as required by State and Federal agencies
- Performs EKGs and Spirometry functions
- Documentation according to State, Federal and Clinic guidelines
- Recognizes and resolves problems caused by collection or instrumentation problems
- Participates in proficiency testing
- Follows infection control policies
General:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an environment which supports favorable patient/public/employee relations
- Adheres to the Stillwater Medical Group guidelines as explained in the handbook
- Is flexible in meeting unusual Clinic and Department needs
- Completes 100% of mandatory education
- May be assigned to assist in training new hires or transfers
- Completes billing information
- Presents a clean and organized work area
- Performs other duties as assigned
