We are seeking a collaborative and mission-driven executive to join our team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This is an opportunity for a strategic leader who brings operational excellence, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care that meets the evolving needs of our community. 

As COO, you will play a pivotal role in leading the internal operations of an organization that exists to support the mental health, recovery, and resilience of individuals and families across Denver. Your leadership will directly enhance WellPower’s ability to provide accessible, compassionate, and person-centered care. In partnership with the CEO and Executive Management Team, you will shape and execute strategic initiatives, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and support high-performing teams in delivering trauma-informed services rooted in dignity, connection, and hope.

This is a hybrid role, with regular weekly on-site requirements in Denver, CO. While we excited about candidates open to relocation, this role will require residence in or within a commutable distance to the Greater Denver Area.

Compensation: 

  • $271,000 - $300,000 + bonus

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and adhere to best practices in customer satisfaction, operational alignment, caregiver engagement, financial value and provider satisfaction. Work with Chief Medical Officer and others to help ensure patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Appraise, evaluate, and monitor operational infrastructure, systems, processes and standards to achieve organizational goals as laid out in the Strategic Plan.
  • Supervise and guide the work of Vice Presidents for clinical services. Collaborate with leaders and providers to formulate strategies and initiatives advancing a broad spectrum of clinical services, clinical quality and operational excellence.
  • Serve as champion for continual process improvement.
  • Working closely with V.P. of Human Resources, establish and maintain procedures and practices to ensure effective managerial and leadership development, and to provide for capable management succession for key positions and business units within the organization.
  • Direct and develop procedures and controls to maintain high-quality services, promote communication, and ensure compliance with important rules and regulations. 
  • Provide leadership for and support to others with the goals of operational excellence, effective collaboration, employee engagement, and excellent customer service experience. 
  • Participate in committees and meetings outside the organization with the purpose of staying informed of, compliance with, and organizational influence on regulatory issues, clinical services requirements and standards, as well as improvement of our community’s overall system of care.
  • Apply shared knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current best practices, research/new developments, and applicable laws regarding operational and organizational effectiveness. Ensure regulatory compliance for all areas of local, state, federal law and organizational policies and procedures. 
  • Provide coordination, project leadership and positive direction to Vice Presidents and others within the organization toward high standards of excellence and achieving exceptional services.
  • Advocate for a culture of Well-being, innovation, and operational excellence through high-level planning and decision making. 
  • Work with Chief Financial Offer and others to implement and manage budget for area of responsibility, demonstrating effective stewardship of resources and achieving annual goals. 
  • Complete a variety of organization-wide projects as assigned by the CEO, and perform other related duties as assigned. 
  • Guide others in creating and maintaining a trauma-informed environment of well-being. 

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years management experience within a mental health organization or similar medical provider.  
  • Master’s degree in an area related to mental health services, business operations, healthcare administration, quality systems, or closely related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a healthcare Director/Vice-President level leadership role preferred.
