Responsibilities
The Deputy Task Lead will work alongside the Project Task Lead to provide oversight to a team responsible for building, operating, securing, defending, and extending enterprise-scale data strategies, architectures, and applications. The Deputy Task Lead will support the management of contractor personnel responsible for the IT services and providing direction and guidance to the subordinate teams consisting of server, network, database, service, and other related teams that are responsible for 12 separate networks and telecommunications systems of all classification levels serving more than 400 users. The Deputy Task Lead shall use IT industry best practices to deliver various IT services. The Deputy Task Lead be responsible for the quality and efficiency of the contractor’s performance and will assist the Government with all financial and business processes of the task, excluding inherently governmental functions.
The Deputy Task Lead will assist in managing approximately 50 contractors consisting of network engineers, Tier 1 support, software developers, cloud architects, knowledge management professionals, project managers and data scientists.
As the Deputy Task Lead, the candidate will work with team leads to:
- Provide functional knowledge of operational and support processes for their service area.
- Clarify/resolve process-related activities for technical team.
- Understand existing and proposed delivery process, procedures, and tools by function.
- Monitor and report progress against plans through final acceptance and signoff.
- Manage, coordinate, and resolve project issues, decisions, and risks.
- Personnel / Performance Management: Responsibilities include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience leading and supervising teams in a Government networking and infrastructure environment (classified and unclassified).
- Experience leading and supervising the building, operating, securing, defending, and extending Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) systems, including wireless components, firewalls, routing and switching, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPV6), VPN, cloud computing, virtualized servers, storage arrays, and other IT/data systems. Experience with unified communications, including leading and supervising the design, installation, maintenance, and administration of VTC system for multi-level classification environments (Unclassified, Secret, and TS/SCI).
- Experience briefing a Senior Government leadership on agency-wide planned, recommended, and directed actions to enable unity of effort and operational effectiveness.
- Experience overseeing personnel receiving, interpreting, planning, briefing, executing, and reporting on orders issued by the Commander of USCYBERCOM or one of their subordinate Commanders, the National Manager for National Security Systems, and/or other authorized Commander with Command authority.
Desired Skills:
- PMP certification.
- Cloud certifications, such as, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Sysops Administrator - Associate, MS Certified Azure Fundamentals, MS Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
- ITIL Foundations level certification.
- Experience leading and supervising teams performing IT (Cyberspace), Cybersecurity, Software engineering, and/or Data/AI.
- Demonstrated familiarity with supervised/unsupervised machine learning, and familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to support fielding of artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities for government-directed use-cases.
