At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

A Day in the Life

We’re designing and piloting new digital health subscription businesses aimed directly at consumers — a bold shift from our traditional B2B implantable device model. As the leader of this initiative, you will build, launch, and scale new digital-first services that engage patients directly, leveraging our existing clinical expertise, trusted brand, and emerging digital assets.

This is a unique opportunity to build businesses from the inside — with startup speed and corporate strength.

At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. In-person exchanges are invaluable to our work. We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite in our Mounds View, MN office as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & launch a B2C subscription business model around a high-value consumer health service (e.g., remote monitoring, insights, coaching, emergency alert)

  • Develop and iterate on MVPs to rapidly test product-market fit

  • Own full P&L responsibility: pricing, customer acquisition, retention, and growth

  • Partner across product, regulatory, IT, marketing, clinical, and sales functions to remove barriers and co-create solutions

  • Lead with a consumer-first lens, defining the value proposition and user experience

  • Navigate and influence within a matrixed global organization while challenging legacy assumptions

  • Build and lead a small cross-functional squad to operationalize the offering

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 6 months: a validated MVP with real customer usage and learning loops

  • Within 12 months: first revenue with strong customer satisfaction signals

  • Within 18 months: a clear business case to scale the service or pivot based on insights

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 15+ years of experience in digital health, consumer tech, or subscription-based businesses

  • 8+ years managerial experience (people and/or programs)

  • Background in healthcare (wearables, connected devices, SaMD, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred but not required

  • Proven ability to launch and scale new offerings, ideally in regulated or health-adjacent environments

  • Deep understanding of subscription metrics (CAC, LTV, churn, retention) and DTC strategies

  • Strong business acumen — experience with P&L ownership, market sizing, and financial modeling

  • High EQ and organizational savvy — thrives in complex, consensus-driven environments

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and data-informed decision-making

  • Health tech startups (e.g., WHOOP, Levels, Omada, Livongo, Ro, Hims & Hers)

  • Consumer tech leaders (e.g., Amazon, Apple Health, Fitbit, Calm, Headspace)

  • Strategy, product, or GM roles in corporate innovation or digital ventures
