Software Engineer (InfoSec)

About Team & About Role: 

Rubrik’s Information Security team advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software, systems, and services that our customers depend on every day.

Rubrik is seeking creative problem solvers with a passion for coding and cloud. In this role you will be required to solve fundamental engineering problems like data and log ingestion, automation and manage cloud resources from top-notch engineers.  You will also partner with stakeholders like Security Operation Center to design and implement security automation solutions to support the team handling security events efficiently and reliably, and practice technical documentation and presentation skills in the field. 

What you’ll do: 

• Work on large scale data/log processing projects to efficiently ingest and query data in a cost effective manner in cloud environments like AWS, GCP and Azure
• Design and implement streamlined, efficient, and maintainable coding solutions for our team's use cases. 
• Conduct periodic data ingestion at regular intervals tailored to specific use cases
• Partner with internal stakeholders and participate in a software development requirements gathering process to collect and document required data for security operations automation use cases.
• Engage in agile ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and deliver results in alignment with the sprint cadence
• Document essential information for deliverables and lessons learned to support stakeholder needs, and create libraries and processes that can be utilized by other team members and future use cases.

Experience you’ll need:

• 2-5 yrs of experience in Engineering with a Computer Science background preferred. 
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s Degree in Computer Science a plus
• Solid Python programming fundamentals – you can analyze and debug existing Python code.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Shell 
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and best practices (Github CI)
• Experience with building and interfacing with REST APIs
• Experience with database systems and queries such as Postgres, MySQL etc
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure like AWS or GCP or Azure
• Experience in tools and best practices in common environments e.g. Git, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Thrive in fast-paced environment and have the ability to approach problems with an innovative, can-do, inquisitive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Optimize costs and manage cloud resources—such as storage, compute, and databases—across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Proficiency with OLAP DBMS like ClickHouse 
• Experience with SIEM like Sentinel

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US Pay Range$117,600—$176,400 USD
