Are you an experienced technology delivery leader with a passion for owning/driving technical outcomes and business change? We’re seeking a highly skilled hands-on Technical Delivery Manager – Financial Markets to lead the functional build and migration of all Financial Market Systems into new datacentres within agreed timeframes.  You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive the delivery of project outcomes.

This is a fixed term contract until Mar 2027 with the possibility on an extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on Technical Delivery Manager responsible for leading the provision of financial market systems into new datacentres utilising a modern infrastructure stack.
  • Lead/Coordinate activities for Financial Markets Group into the Core Modernisation Program ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate clearly, collaborating with business stakeholders, technologists, and vendors to drive the delivery of project outcomes on time and budget.
  • Identify and respond to issues, risks, and opportunities, maintaining controls and ensuring robust processes are operationalised.
  • Provide expert advice on relevant project change strategies, structures, processes, and frameworks.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous improvement.

As a Technical Delivery Manager – Financial Markets, you must demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in:

  • Advanced knowledge designing, building, and supporting financial markets systems.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with demonstratable experience influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management, change management, business analysis, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience working independently as well as leading others, providing day to day direction to ensure output is delivered to a high standard.
  • Understanding of organizational policies/processes and risk management practises with the ability to exercise judgement to achieve positive outcomes. 

Your team

Financial Markets Group is responsible for implementing the Reserve Bank’s operations in domestic and foreign exchange markets, monitoring and analysing developments in financial markets and co-ordinating the Reserve Bank’s relationship with international institutions.  This role is part of the Business Support Services team where you will be responsible for the design, build and migration of financial market systems to new datacentres.  You will work with technical, non-technical stakeholders and vendors to execute on the Bank’s strategic agenda and solve complex problems.
