Your experience strikes a balance between technical design and product development. You have a technical knowledge of swim construction and garment lead times. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and excels at adhering to deadlines and calendars, ensuring timely and efficient task completion.A Day in the Life:
The Product Development Manager Swim/Special Projects will lead the development of the Ready-to-Wear product focusing on swim/sport styles as a key liaison between the design, production, merchandising, and vendors. PD Manager will maintain support on a large scale, fast-moving seasonal developments adhering to an operation timeline catered for woven/swim product, responsible for monitoring and communicating to cross-functional teams timelines, requirements, accuracy, and execution throughout product lifecycle - from development samples through to bulk production.
- Development Management: Oversee creation/maintenance/sending of Bill of Materials to vendors from development through to bulk production. Review trim embellishment, print, and material/color. Troubleshoot costing concerns throughout product lifecycle.
- Team Collaboration: Ensure daily communication with Design, Merchandising, and Tech teams for deadline adherence—Spearhead recurring calendar meetings.
- Vendor Management: Develop allocation strategies and negotiate costs with vendors during development and bulk stages. Lead video calls with vendors and handle daily communication to problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Tech Design and Fit Oversight: Develop and update technical specifications to complete design tech packs at proto and SMS stages. Maintain style trackers, critique samples before fit sessions, conduct fittings, and ensure garment fit aligns with the design intent.
- Reporting and Metrics: Manage and maintain style tracker to capture adoption rates, report and track costing process, and development metrics to track progress and adherence to timelines.
To Land This Role:
- Degree or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of experience in product development, swim-focus a plus
- Proficient technical knowledge of swim construction, garment lead times/calendar, costing, testing/ quality.
- Experience working with overseas manufacturing, in particular, swim/woven vendors
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Proficiency in software similar to PLM
- Ability to be flexible and support change initiatives within the division and work in a fast-paced environm
