About the role

The Team:

Our service is a nurse led outpatient satellite service located in Burnie, approximately 1.5hours drive from our tertiary hospital, The Launceston General.  We provide care for all aspects of patients requiring renal replacement therapy in an outpatient setting in the community.  Working in close collaboration with all renal and hospital services, we are dedicated to delivering excellence in healthcare. Our focus is on achieving improved outcomes for our consumers, supporting our workforce, and enhancing the health and wellbeing of the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

As a Haemodialysis Registered Nurse within our Satellite Renal Unit, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals receiving maintenance haemodialysis. Working within the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) framework, you will provide specialised nursing care that supports optimal health outcomes for people living with chronic kidney disease.

In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for stable renal patients. You will perform dialysis procedures safely and effectively, including vascular access management, clinical monitoring, and responding to acute changes in patient condition.

You will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, and the broader multidisciplinary team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and excellence in clinical practice.

As a Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate leadership, clinical competence, and sound decision-making. You will act as a role model and mentor to less experienced staff and nursing students, fostering professional growth and supporting a positive team environment.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 26 October 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
