Dietary Cook

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.


DIETARY COOK
• San Dimas, CA
• NeuroRestorative facility located on Puente Street
• Per Diem (temporary FT hours)
• DAY / 7a-530p
• 10 hour shift with overtime after the 8th hour
• Base pay of $17-$19.50/hour, OT rate of $25.50-$29.25
• Pay on Demand
• Home like setting

SUMMARY
The Dietary and Food Cook serves at the intersection between our dietary and therapeutic strategy. They perform an essential function when it comes to the health and well-being of our patient population, as well as contributes to the evolving culture of our unique home-like environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function listed below:

• Reviews medical orders from our dietician and speech language pathologist to determine diet and texture modifications for each patient
• Reviews weekly menu and prepares food according to its guidelines
• Ensures modified meals are in compliance with International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) guidelines www.iddsi.org
• Maintains kitchen inventory and cleanliness
• Performs other related duties and activities as required

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required by the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

Education and Experience:
• Must have valid CA Driver's License
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Six months related experience
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills to manage relationships
• Self-motivated and collaborative; A team player
• Strong culinary knowledge and a commitment to excellent customer service
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
• Food handlers (within 30 days of hire)
Physical Requirements:
• Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
