Processing Sanitation Lead (Crew C)

Summary

The Sanitation Lead leads the daily operation of the sanitation crew and equipment in a multi-line packaging and processing department within a vegetable processing facility. The individual assists in the training of sanitation personnel on equipment operations and other sanitation procedures. This person oversees the safety of the employees and the safe operation of the machines and application of chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

• The individual assists in the training of sanitation personnel on equipment operations and other sanitation procedures.

• This person oversees the safety of the employees and the safe operation of the machines and application of chemicals.

• Organizes and supervises sanitation personnel and ensures the proper cleaning and sanitizing of industrial processing machinery is completed in a timely manner

• Communicates with other departments to ensure a quality product is being delivered to our customer

• Plans and coordinates the sanitation activities with the Sanitation Supervisor and the Food Safety/Sanitation Manager

• Assists in setting department goals and helps the sanitation department achieve goals

• Ensures that sanitation personnel are working safely and the safe operation of sanitation equipment and chemicals

• Performs other duties as assigned

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

• 2+ years related experience and/or training

• Experience working with industrial chemicals.

• Good knowledge of computer systems.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure.

• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.

• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment; ability to lead a group of employees.
