The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Real Time Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Software Products and Capabilities' Frameworks software team to support the uACE Program, our software team is part of the Boeing Enterprise Software Verticals organization located in Long Beach, CA, Berkeley, MO, Plano, TX, Mesa, AZ, or Oklahoma City, OK.

This position’s main focus is developing and certifying low level product line software, device drivers for real-time, embedded software for safety critical and mission critical avionics systems and cyber assured environments.
These systems are required to meet the highest levels of safety standards, levels of rigor and design assurances required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD) and National Security Agency (NSA) certification authorities as they are deployed on latest Commercial aircraft, Defense platforms and weapons systems, including un-piloted and autonomous vehicles of the future.
The selected candidate will perform all functions of the full software development lifecycle to provide complete solutions, including define lower level requirements, design, algorithms, software development, and certification. The candidate will also be responsible for developing Software Integration Elements (SIE) for Enterprise frameworks and incorporating it onto an embedded avionic computer system. These SIEs include a mixture of embedded drivers, product security, applications, as well as third-party real-time operating systems (RTOS). Another important part of this job is to perform the requirements-based testing/verification (RBT) to ensure the developed software meets the highest level of required security rigor. Familiar with DO-178C for Safety Critical, Design Assurance Level (DAL) software, and Product Line software engineering is a plus is a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for real time embedded software systems
• Develops, maintains code, and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Perform hardware/software integration including debugging and resolving integration issues to ensure software works on target hardware
• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
• Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
• Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options; located in Berkeley, MO, Plano, TX, Mesa, AZ, Oklahoma City, OK, or Long Beach, CA. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering (electrical, computer, software), computer science
- 3+ years experience in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python
- 2+ years experience developing software for embedded systems, using one or more of the following real time operating systems (RTOS): DDC-I Deos, FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS, Green Hills uvelOSity
