Job Purpose
The Manager of Transportation Product Management is a key leadership role within the Transportation team that will lead product management, product strategy, and project proposals for the EMEA region. This position is focused on the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Asia) but will have extensive collaboration with North America and other regions as well.
Product managers at EnerSys are highly collaborative and key leadership roles within the business units. They work highly collaborative and cross functionally to identify the products and projects needed, focusing on the “why” for each project from a technical, business case, and strategic perspective, ultimately owning the ongoing success and full lifecycle of a product. You will lead a team in this role and use your technical expertise to create strategic roadmaps that align with company goals, identify product requirements, conduct market research activities, and prioritize initiatives. This role also has extensive customer interaction as the leader of all engineering and product collaboration with key partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Define product needs in the lead-acid, lithium, and the sensors and connectivity space as it relates to the transportation, commercial vehicles, and marine space in EMEA.
-Act as a key and go-to product expert within the business unit while leading a team of product managers to create roadmaps, project proposals, Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), and manage project submissions.
-High level of cross-functional collaboration with other teams to scope projects, gather feedback on the latest and greatest technological advancements, evaluate prioritization and resource requirements, and all other aspects of project kick-offs.
-Follow products through their entire lifecycle and identifying any improvements, optimizations, application changes, ongoing product or process changes.
-Collaborate with customers and OEMs, engaging in future requirements and collaborations with them as a KEY partner. Maintain relationships with technical and product contacts.
-Review RFIs and RFQs for lead, lithium, and sensor solutions used within the transportation industry and provide feedback on solutions and capabilities that will support the customer within the EnerSys strategic transportation roadmap.
-Support fleets, customers, and internal partners with technical support and leadership as needed.
-Communication up and around the organization. Collaborate with the engineering team and technology “centers of excellence” for our various products, and other business units to align on solutions that may be leveraged across multiple applications.
-Participate in industry trade shows, seminars, meetings and sales calls to stay abreast of current and emerging customer and market trends. Inclusive of attending and representing EnerSys at trade associations and technical conferences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelors degree in engineering or business required.
-Proven technical and business acumen, and ability to think a big picture strategic perspective.
-Minimum 6 years experience in an engineering, technical, or product management function.
-Minimum 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
-Preferred 2+ years experience in a Product Management or strategic role.
-Preferred 4+ years of experience in automotive engineering or automotive product management.
-Preferred 4+ years of experience in battery systems.
