Summary of Job Duties:

This position will work under the supervision and direction of the HLA laboratory supervisor. MLS II in the HLA laboratory performs a variety of technical procedures including HLA typing by rSSO and next generation sequencing methods, Luminex based HLA Antibody identification, and donor/recipient flow cytometric cross-matching. They are expected to keep all instrumentation in good working order
and identify and notify the supervisor or lead tech of instrument malfunctions. The MLS II fulfills all the responsibilities and tasks of a MLS I as well as performing quality assurance metric studies, and training/competency assessments.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences or Bachelor of Science in related discipline.
• ASCP Certification or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
