Job Summary
PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Technical Intern for the Gas Planning & Design Group.
This job involves working as Gas System Design intern, working on PSE&G gas main replacement program and assist in regulatory compliance reviews.
This position will be Hybrid Flexible.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
- Assist with GSMP workload and other main replacement projects already in construction
- Review projects for the next construction year
- Complete tasks furthering Best Practices and other ongoing Key Initiatives
- Conduct engineering work utilizing engineering principles and practices and adapting it to the assigned discipline in support of work planning and
- facilities design of natural gas system requirements associated with the Gas System Modernization Program (GSMP) program
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and review work of engineers and technicians assigned to the discipline
- Partner with Districts and Division scheduling groups to plan and monitor all work to ensure that budget and work units meet plan
- Perform system simulation studies
- Provide technical assistance in implementing special programs and new processes
- Provide technical support and problem resolution during system activities
- Review data quality and provide updates and reports as needed
Job Specific Qualifications
- The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
- Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
- PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
- Incumbents must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
- Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Incumbents are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship.
