Investment Intern

Job Summary:  As an Investment Intern at Canal, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of Institutional Investing. You will work closely with our investment team to support the identification, analysis, and execution of investment opportunities across both the public and private markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in researching and analyzing market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to identify potential investment opportunities.
  2. Stay updated on relevant economic, regulatory, and geopolitical factors that may impact investment decisions.
  3. Assist in the preparation of investment reports.
  4. Collaborate effectively with accounting to ensure timely reporting.
  5. Work on projects regarding alternative investments.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Training Requirements: 

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related field.

 

Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Investment or Wealth Management experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for financial analysis and investment research.
  • Strong technology skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications with an emphasis on Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal preferred, but not required.

 

Special Considerations:

Physical Requirements: Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written in person and via telephone).  Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping.  Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 lbs.).  Heavy use of computer and office equipment.

Travel/Hours of Service: Occasional travel may be required.  Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
