Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Senior Manager in Supplier Food Safety creates and conveys a strategic vision for managing supplier risk and safeguarding the brand through a scientific approach. This position involves setting and enforcing supplier management standards within designated categories, collaborating closely with suppliers and the supply team to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
What you’ll do….
Develop and communicate Supplier Management strategic vision to manage risk and protect the brand with a science-based approach.
Implement Supplier Management Standards for the assigned category.
Work closely with the suppliers and the supply team. Ensure supplier verification programs and all parameters critical to food safety and associated regulatory compliance are appropriate and manage Supplier Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Develop strategy, specifications and processes. Conduct internal and external audits, process validations, review and risk assessments for higher risk product suppliers within the assigned category.
Support the supplier onboarding process, launch of new products, and reformulations by providing technical consultation to internal stakeholders for qualifying new, and existing suppliers within the assigned category.
Manage supplier recalls internally with key stakeholders and externally liaise with Federal and State agencies.
Serve as the key contact for the sourcing/merchandising/Private Brands developing teams relating to supplier food safety programs and issues.
Establish and monitor category Supplier Food Safety metrics/KPIs.
Develop business processes/training for key stakeholders.
Manage Food Safety related complaints, investigations, and corrective actions from both customers, regulatory bodies, and stores.
What you’ll bring….
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related degree.
7+years of related experience.
Strong knowledge of food safety systems/manufacturing processes.
Extensive knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems.
Advanced knowledge of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Expert written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Ability to triage and prioritize tasks/activities between “day to day” and “continuous improvements”.
