Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Implement, execute, and maintain an effective incident investigation process, identifying root causes and formulating corrective actions to mitigate exposure.
• Serves in an advisory capacity for forming policies, procedures, and practices that will maintain and enhance the security of the college.
• Actively respond to and compile detailed reports for incidents involving criminal activity, student concerns, accidents, and injuries at all college locations. This includes after operational hours and on weekends.
• Update and maintain an accurate and efficient case reporting system, ensuring the documentation of all required information and supporting evidence.
• Execute the annual Clery Reports, the College’s Annual Security Report, the quarterly crime statistic reports, and other operational reports utilizing statistics, trends, recommendations, and assessments.
• Develop educational programs designed to enhance security on all SoLAcc campuses including theft prevention, self-defense, and sexual assault prevention.
• Maintain and operate the college’s computerized access control and camera monitoring system (Verkada), altering access and alarm schedules, and responding to alarms as required.
• Ensure that all SoLAcc employees, students, and visitors are aware of and adhere to access controls and campus security protocols at all SLCC locations.
• Supervise, onboard, complete payroll, and train all third-party security service personnel at all SoLAcc locations.
• Administer the College’s parking program and manage event parking passes on the Lafayette campus.
• Oversee the distribution of identification cards/access control devices to all SoLAcc employees and students, including the identification of ways to improve this program.
• Conduct regular security audits at all locations and provide appropriate information and training.
• Assists with the coordination of emergency response drills for all locations, providing input on how to improve those procedures and the college’s preparedness.
• Work with local and state public safety agencies as required.

General Activities:
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Follows safety procedures and uses proper lifting techniques to ensure personal health and safety.
• Responsible for participating in budget development and adhering to final budgets.
• Predictable and reliable attendance is required to provide consistency and continuity of business services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education: 

Associate's degree required, preferably in Criminal Justice or a related field.

Required Experience: 

Five years of experience in security, safety, or risk management-related field is required.

Required Licenses or Certifications: 

Valid, unencumbered driver's license

Preferred Education: 

Bachelor's degree
