Cenovus is looking for a Team Lead US Refining at our Toledo, Ohio refinery. Reporting to the Manager, Materials Management Logistics and Inventory Optimization, the Team Lead is accountable for leading and advising the Materials Management Team. The group is responsible for MRP activities, material control processes, including maintaining accurate stocking levels, performing robust inventory reviews, optimizing inventory, driving reports, plus providing and capturing value for the organization and Company. The objective of this position will be to develop and lead material control strategies that support organizational business goals. The candidate will understand Cenovus’s material management program and the functional and strategic roles of material control activities applied by the department. Candidates must be dynamic self-starters who work collaboratively, are results oriented, and driven by continuous improvement. This position may occasionally provide backup support to the Warehouse Technicians, Materials Analyst, and other members of the Supply Chain team.

What you’ll do:  

• Maintain high Safety, Health, Environment, & Security standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirements related to warehousing and material control.

• Provide leadership on site material management and warehouse activities including material requirement planning (MRP), obsolete/surplus material management, repairs/refurbishments, and management of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, logistics, and quality control/assurance.

• Support internal Business Partners (Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, etc.). Seek to collaborate and effectively communicate with them to develop and maintain robust, sustainable relationships. Be proactive and understand organizational needs and aligning material management strategies to business partner goals.

• Optimize and maintain facilities (warehouses, laydown yards, chemical/catalyst storage, turnaround (TAR), temporary storage areas, offsite storage sites); ensure stationary and mobile equipment are maintained and replaced as vital.

• Partner with the Maintenance & Reliability teams to ensure alignment to the Cenovus spare parts stocking strategy while practicing spare parts optimization as part of our reliability-centered maintenance philosophy.

• Implement plans and expectations as set out by the MM Leadership and track key performance indicators (KPI);

• Develop short and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory; engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement efforts.

• Coach employees and participate in the performance management process/discussions. Lead the selection process for staffing of future open warehouse positions the support the organization.

Who you are: 

• Education: High School Diploma/ GED

• 8+ years of related work experience

Preferred:

• BS from an accredited University focused in Supply Chain Management, Business Management / Administration or equivalent work experience preferred.

• Proven experience managing or working in and around warehouse operations and/or supply chain related roles.

• A technical proficiency of oil refining specific materials.

• Experienced User Level of knowledge of Material Management System (SAP, Maximo)

• Work collaboratively within a team structure to achieve set objectives and deliverables.

• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Excellent prioritization skills – proven ability to strategically work on key priorities and to seek help if things are not going as planned or as needed to achieve results.
