About Einstein Charter Schools
Einstein Charter Schools (“Einstein”) is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization whose mission is to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient. Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter Schools is a top performing, tuition free, open admissions network of 4 schools in New Orleans East, serving grades PK-12. Our schools are: Sherwood Forest, Village De L’est, Einstein Middle School, and Sarah T. Reed High School. Authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board, we service the needs of more than 1,600 students, over 30% of whom receive ELL services.

Position Overview
The Principal serves as the educational leader of the school. The principal is responsible for adhering to the policies, regulations and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe environment, creates an environment conducive to learning, and meets the approved curricula with the school's mission as the primary focus for the direction of the school.
The principal is to work collaboratively in curriculum development and implementation, scheduling, extracurricular activities, remediation, study hall/tutorials, personnel management, policies and procedures, and facility operations.
Reports to the Executive Director of Leadership and Learning
Key Responsibilities
- Fosters the success of all by providing the leadership for assessing, developing, communicating, implementing and evaluating a shared vision of learning that reflects improving the school environment and student achievement.
- Establishes and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and employees to achieve maximum academic performance and to assume responsibility for behavior.
- Manages, evaluates, supervises clear and effective procedures for the operation of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission and goals including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, discipline, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, budgetary, office operations, and emergency procedures.
- Communicates a clear vision of excellence and continuous improvement consistent with state and district standards
- Supervises the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans, and conducting classroom observations on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with scientifically based research practices which address child development and learning
- Establishes procedures for evaluation and implementation and to effectively communicate the procedure, discuss improvements, provide professional developments, support, and the completion of professional growth plans
- Selects, supports, evaluates, and retains high quality instructional staff
- Conducts staff meetings regularly to disseminate information, allow for dialogue, and to gain insight
- Ensures textbooks are aligned with the pacing guides, standards and tests
- Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with staff, students, and parents
