Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an energetic candidate to serve as the Industry Lead Worker in the Industries Unit at Danville Correctional Center. This candidate will work closely with facility Industries staff as well as individual in custody workers in a production setting. The successful candidate will train, assign, and instruct individual in custody workers in the daily operation of the Industries Program. Additionally, the successful candidate will maintain production records, receive and inspect finished products for quality control, maintain preventative maintenance on all equipment, and ensure all institutional safety, security, and sanitation procedures are followed. Essential Functions
- Trains, assigns, and instructs individual in custody workers in the daily operation of Industries program at Danville Correctional Industries Unit.
- Maintains operating records of production.
- Receives and inspects finished products for quality control prior to packaging and shipping of finished goods.
- Maintains proper preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Maintains all Department and institutional safety, security, and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
