Sanctuary for Families is New York’s leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender violence. Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through a comprehensive range of services. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.



POSITION OVERVIEW


  

The Senior Specialist of Systems reports to the Deputy Director of Strategic Systems. The Strategic Systems team works to enable Sanctuary’s mission through strategic and effective use and governance of technology. The Senior Specialist is primarily responsible for administering the agency’s Salesforce-based Client Tracking System, including data collection, data reporting/analysis, technical assistance, and quality control efforts. S/he will develop and update the application (in-house), as well as in conjunction with external consultants.



RESPONSIBILITIES


Application Development

  • Manage the enhancement of Sanctuary’s enterprise applications, particularly its Salesforce-based Client Tracking System, working closely with program and non-program staff to identify needs and optimize application functionality.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues and implement upgrades aligned with programmatic needs.
  • Manage synchronization between Salesforce and any other connected systems.
  • Researches, develops, and utilizes different tools to help improve data collection, data retention, and quality control.


Application Administration & Support

  • Create and manage user profiles, roles, and accounts.
  • Install and configure third-party integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with sharing rules and organization-wide defaults.


Program Reporting, Evaluation & Impact Measurement

  • Conduct reporting out of Salesforce and connected enterprise applications for internal and external purpose.
  • Support reporting and analysis needs for Sanctuary’s government and foundation reporting, and design data reports for funding solicitations and other ad hoc purposes.


Systems PMO

  • Oversee project management and implementation of assigned technology projects, ensuring alignment with programmatic direction and organizational priorities. 


Collaboration with Staff

  • Support teams in their contract compliance and performance efforts.
  • Monitor the system for data quality issues and implements plans of resolution.
  • Provide technical assistance and training in areas related to data integrity, data quality, and user capabilities.
  • Manage standardized data maintenance reports to ensure data collection processes are being followed efficiently. 


Training & Communication

  • Develop and maintain protocols, processes and standards for proper use of the database.
  • Provide/Support training needed for effective systems implementation and usage. 
  • Triage helpdesk inquiries to the team, responding to technical support and data entry requests from staff in a timely and efficient manner. 


Other

  • Manage consultants and/or interns as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the position’s supervisor. 

Requirements

Education/Training/Experience

  • Minimum of three years related experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Salesforce Administrator training/certification preferred. 


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Must love systems! 
  • 3 years of Salesforce architecture and administration experience preferred but related experience will be considered. 
  • Certified Administrator for Salesforce CRM or demonstrated comparable skill set,
  • Experience with enterprise system reporting tools preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills, specifically in MS Excel.
  • Strong critical/analytical thinking ability.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.  
  • Ability to identify and implement process and policy improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail. <
