Position Summary:

The Zip Line Guide is responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our guests and employees on our Zip Line Course. This position is responsible for following the goals related to safety, service, and efficiency related to operating higher complexity activities. Building lasting relationships with guests and employees is key to this position’s success. This role requires a high degree of focus on safety while being comfortable working at various levels of height. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests in a safe, professional manner on complex activities.
  • Performs all tasks for which the work group is responsible.
  • Provide a safe environment for guests and staff to participate while providing safety, fun, and engagement at the highest level.
  • Constantly monitor the adherence of safety policies to ensure that our guest and staff safety is our highest priority.
  • Working at various levels of height focusing on the safety of the guest, fellow employees, and self.
  • Greet guests and give an introductory orientation talk.
  • Inspect, repair as needed and prepare guide equipment, guest equipment, and Zip Line course daily.
  • Complete Daily Operations Check List and Report and Equipment Use Log. Complete Near Misses/Incidents when pertinent.
  • Inform Manager of any maintenance needs on the course.
  • Guide groups and demonstrate proficiency in the multitude of skills required to guide.
  • Ensure that all procedures covered in the Guide Training Manual are followed.
  • Respond when necessary to evacuate participants from the course.
  • Ensure the highest level of cleanliness at all times while actively mitigate any hazards that may arise.
 

 

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Have the physical capability to assist and accommodate guests of various sizes throughout the course, including rescues.
  • Be able to hike, climb, and rappel to and from high altitudes.
  • Possess full range of overhead arm motions.
  • Have full hand dexterity.
  • Have strong upper body to pull self and the potential addition of 270 pounds more along each cable’s incline.
  • Be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to decrease the speed of, and stop, guests of various weights and speeds as they approach incoming landing point.
  • Strong physical stamina and conditioning
  • Family and kid friendly.
 

Qualifications:

  • Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
  • Good oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience as a zip line guide is a plus.
  • Experienced at outdoor activities such as rope climber and/or rock climber.
 

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work holidays & weekends
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions.
  • Be comfortable with working heights of 200+ feet.
