English teacher in Tuscaloosa County, AL

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are looking for English teachers to provide in-person customized lessons for different expat children based in Tuscaloosa County, AL.

We have three open classes in the area.

• Student: 4-year-old child
• Availability: Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 4 pm
• Lesson frequency: 2 x per week
• Location: Lessons are to be held at the family's home in Tuscaloosa, AL (ZIP: 35406)
• Current English level: Novice
• Native language: German
• Student’s language needs and goals: Preparing for school

• Student: 3-year-old child
• Availability: Tuesday afternoon
• Lesson frequency: 1 x per week
• Location: Lessons are to be held at the family's home in Vance, AL (ZIP: 35490)
• Current English level: Novice
• Native language: German, but speaks English at school
• Student’s language needs and goals: Parents have requested an assessment in person to help determine where the child is at with his level

• Student: 4-year-old child
• Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday from 3:30 to 5:30pm
• Lesson frequency: 1 x per week
• Location: Lessons are to be held at the family's home in Northport, AL (ZIP: 35475)
• Current English level: Novice
• Native language: German, but speaks English at school
• Student's language needs and goals: General English speaking and reading, games in English/songs (everything to improve fluency in English)

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field
• Minimum of two years of experience
