We deliver innovative, data enabling technologies (i.e., software) that provide biotech/pharma (R&amp;D) teams with enterprise-level access to sample/biomarker data management solutions &amp; analytics, information, insight &amp; reporting capabilities.</p> <p>Our end-to-end (from sample collection to biomarker data) suite of solutions are focused on providing sponsors information (data with context) – we do this by connecting biospecimen, assay as well as clinical data sources in a secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure, enabling seamless, automated data management workflows, key insight development, improved collaboration, and the ability to make faster, more informed decisions.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Manager, Software Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies, and extensive experience leading software development teams. They will ensure coverage and support are provided to their team in order to ensure timely deliverables and escalate issues to the leadership team as needed. In addition, they will work closely with Product Owners and customers to coordinate across teams, define sprint plans, and refine the backlog.</p> <p> </p> <p>Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:</p> <p>· Lead and manage a team of software engineers in the development, testing, and maintenance of software systems.</p> <p>· Ensure that software development processes and methodologies are followed and continuously improved.</p> <p>· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and project timelines.</p> <p>· Manage software development projects and ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.</p> <p>· Evaluate and select software development tools and technologies.</p> <p>· Ensure that software solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure.</p> <p>· Review and approve software design documents, code, and test plans.</p> <p>· Mentor and coach team members to help them achieve their career goals.</p> <p>· Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.</p> <p>· Communicate effectively with executive management and stakeholders.</p> <p>· Manage team resources, including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling.</p> <p>· Develop and implement software development strategies and roadmaps.</p> <p>· Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes, source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management, programming languages, and component integration.</p> <p>· Develops programming specifications from business requirements in consultation with end-users.</p> <p>· Creates design specifications, test plan and automated test scripts for project work scope.</p> <p>· Meet budgets and schedules for the entire software lifecycle.</p> <p>· Ensure adherence to software development best practices and processes.</p> <p>· Continuously improve technical skills and stay up to date with emerging technologies.</p> <p>· Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>· Programming language: R experience, with additional Python experience preferred but not required</p> <p>· Other preferred, but not required: general understanding of clinical trial processes and the associated digital systems that support clinical studies (e.g. EDC, LIMS)</p> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Required:</p> <p>· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.</p> <p>· Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development.</p> <p>· Minimum of 3 years of experience leading software development teams.</p> <p> </p> <p>Other Required:</p> <ul> <li>Programming language: Python experience</li> <li>Other preferred skills: DevOps experience </li> <li>Deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies, including Agile development.</li> <li>Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript.</li> <li>Experience with web development frameworks, such as Django, Flask, React or Angular.</li> <li>Familiarity with database technologies, such as SQL or NoSQL.</li> <li>Understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure.</li> <li>Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.</li> <li>Experience with test-driven development or automated testing frameworks, such as PyTest, Robot, Playwright, or Selenium.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of softwa
