Greensman: Seasonal FT

Summary of Duties 

Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other team members, customers, and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members and organizations. Maintain strict privileged, proprietary, guest, and employer confidentiality during and beyond the term of my employment. Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards.

Position Purpose

Responsible for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course. Will perform semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work. Greensman may occasionally perform work involving large equipment, including tractors, skip-loaders, and other maintenance equipment. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

· Operates powered mowing equipment in trimming golf course greens, aprons, and tees.

· Waters and fertilizes tees, greens, and fairways.

· Grades and prepares base for turf, lays sod and seeds tees.

· Changes pins and tee markers.

· Maintains ball washers, rakes, and maintains sand traps, as well as water hazards.

· Repairs and replaces pipe on sprinkling system.

· Installs forms and lays walks, using gravel and asphalt mixes.

· Sprays chemicals on greens.

· Assists in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways by grading and preparing base and planting turf. 

· Operators dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications 

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Requires knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscaping area construction and maintenance work.

· Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.

· Ability to follow oral and written direction.

· A valid driver’s license. 

Work Requirements 

Shift: Mon-Fri

Requires problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds daily. Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
