Position Title: Licensed Dental Assistant

Status: Full-Time – Non- Exempt Hourly Professional

Reports to: Dental Operations Manager (DOM)

Supervisor: Lead LDA


Job Overview:

-Licensed Dental Assistants will help with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, and some dental hygiene tasks. LDAs will assist Dentists, Dental Therapists, and Hygienists with patient treatments. Dental assistants are well-organized with great attention to detail. They provide exceptional patient care

Compensation:

- Guaranteed Hourly of $31 / hour + additional daily bonus.


Responsibilities and Duties

-Retrieving and recording the patient’s vital signs (blood pressure).

-Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.

-Sterilizes operatory room in between patients and preparation of the operatory.

-Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.

-Assisting dental hygienists with procedures, including exposing radiographs, polishing, applying cavity-preventive treatments including sealants, fluoride varnishes, fluoride rinses and Silver Diamine fluoride in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards.

-Recording treatment information in patient records, documenting notes and charting the existing/proposed individualized treatment plan.

-Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.

-Review medical and dental histories and report to provider as necessary.

-Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.

-Assist with the preliminary impression and cementation of temporary crowns.

-Assist with root canal therapy procedures as necessary.

-Assist rubber dam application with the pertaining procedures.

-Completing impression to aid with the denture process or fabrication of the denture, which includes soft reline, hard reline, pickup impressions and bite registration.

-Performs procedures such as pouring stone models and getting cases ready to be sent out to the lab.

-Fabricating temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.

-Application of bleaching agents.

-Assist in the completion of the daily/weekly/monthly checklists with the other LDAs and DAs.

-Maintain patient confidentiality.


Qualifications:

Certification or Degree from an accredited Dental Assistant program.

MN Dental Assistant License.

Proven dedication to provide high quality, comprehensive dental care.

Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Solid working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices.

CPR certified.

Good computer skills.

Excellent communication and people skills.

Attention to detail.

Well-organized and reliable.

Bilingual in Spanish, Somali, Oromo or Hmong is a plus.


Hours:

8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST - with 1 hour lunch break at 1:00 p.m.
