The Director, Financial Reporting and Analysis is a global role within Capital and Risk Solutions (CRS). This is your opportunity to develop your career at a global level while living local.

 

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Financial Reporting & Analysis, you will be responsible for overseeing and producing high quality and relevant reporting that will meet the needs of senior leaders and external stakeholders. Reports must be informative on the performance of the Division and adapt to current and evolving situations to enable decision making. You will work closely with the financial and actuarial leaders of CRS and global support functions (LifeCo Controllers, Corporate Actuarial etc).

The evolving nature of the role requires the ability to adapt to changing needs, expand the use of technology and look for opportunities for improvement.

This role is highly visible in our business and involves periodic interaction with senior leaders on our global team.

 

What will you do?

 

Forecasting, Reporting & Analysis

  • Responsible for quarterly and annual consolidation, reporting and analysis of CRS results

  • Oversee the forecasting process for CRS and preparation of the relevant analysis for LifeCo

  • Develop and prepare content for senior management and Board Committees reports that interpret results

  • Provide oversight to the preparation of subsidiary financial statements

 

Continuous Improvement and Technology

  • Own the global CRS reporting process, continuously improving integration and co-operation with finance and actuarial teams within CRS

  • Work with the CRS Financial intelligence group to develop new reporting tools to enhance senior management reporting

  • Implement process improvements by increasing system and process efficiency and effectiveness using an innovative approach

 

Emerging Reporting

  • Provide leadership and oversight to developing reporting requirements for the division and the company.

  • Operate as a subject matter expert representing CRS on corporate initiatives impacting financial planning and analysis and other areas.

 

Leadership

  • Responsible for providing leadership including performance management and career development for all team members in multiple geographies

  • Provide leadership and people management skills to help others navigate through change, engage and motivate employees

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role

  • University degree plus CPA or equivalent Accounting Designation

  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships

  • Knowledge of Reinsurance accounting would be an asset

  • Strong communication skills to interpret complex information for varied audiences (public, shareholders, regulators, analysts, executive management groups, etc.)

  • High level of ability to influence and persuade across wide array of locations and functions to bring reporting under one, consolidated, direction

  • Quick thinking, analysis and ready recommendations to senior manager

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables which are time sensitive

  • Ability to anticipate, analyze and respond to a rapidly evolving and complex environment

  • Availability for some travel to meet with local teams
