Job Description

Operational, engineering, and project support experience for Passive Optical Network (PON) and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) networks.

  • Network administration via Panorama for 7 Tellabs PON locations.
  • Network administration via Provision (Ensemble) for 20 MRV and 3 ADVA DWDM locations.
  • Project support for both PON and DWDM network locations. This will include rearchitecting the existing DWDM network to a next generation DWDM or active Ethernet topology.
  • Network analysis of existing PON and DWDM networks as part of a continuous improvement effort, to include recommendations for upgrades and changes to improve performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Creation of documentation, processes, and training material for NOC and Network Engineering staff to improve support coverage for both PON and DWDM networks. This includes Visio drawings, inventories, and White Papers.
  • Leading support vendors and Network Services team members in the completion of hardware and software upgrades on PON.
  • Providing recommendations on vendor professional services engagements and support contracts for PON and DWDM networks.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with the following:

• Providing Enterprise network support on production PON and/or DWDM topologies.

• Technical writing, to include training material, technical documentation, and process documentation.

• Organizational and leadership skills.

• Microsoft Office applications, to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

• Data analysis, generating reports, weekly status reports.

Additional Information

Hybrid of remote/onsite work with 2 days onsite required weekly

Must pass a background investigation

Must be able to work in a team environment with client team members
