Nontraditional roles, Cross trained, Self-directed floating, Nontraditional schedules.

VUMC is excited to announce the creation of our new nurse resource pool which offers multiple scheduling options and premium pay. We call this the Staff Collaborative. As a nurse within the Staff Collaborative (resource pool), you will have the option to work at a single hospital for multiple week assignments (6- or 12-week options) or you may choose to work one-day assignments at various hospitals in order to meet your work-life balance objectives. Our resource pool gives you the flexibility to work when you are available and be off for longer breaks, such as spring break, summer breaks with the kids, graduate school/MSN clinicals, etc.

JOB SUMMARY

Supports the licensed healthcare team members in the provision of patient care to include direct patient care, providing healthcare information to patients/families, and following established plan of care. All patient care activities are undertaken with the delegation/supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations. Floats across entities to fulfill requirements of the role.

Job Description

Daily Shift Pick-up: 

  • Flexible work schedule @ $57 per hour

  • Pick up shifts based on your vacations, family needs, etc. 

  • Work the hours and times that best meet your needs

  • Work in a variety of hospitals and units 

  • Great option for secondary work  


Short Term Assignment: 

  • Ability to take assignment at multiple locations within one health system @ $57 per hou

  • Able to work (6) or (12) Week Assignments based on your availability 

  • Gives flexibility to work when you are available and be off for longer breaks. For example, spring break, summer breaks with the kids, graduate school/MSN clinicals. 

  • Short Assignments 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborates with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.
• Partners with the healthcare team by following established plan of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.
• Support plans to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments. Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner.
• LPN Care Planning (Novice): Participates in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team. Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Competently handles multiple assignments often simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.
