Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly-motivated and detail-oriented Sr Research Associate with molecular virology experience to join our team in the development of next generation viral vaccines. As Senior Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research efforts to optimize and expand our screening platform that informs the design of novel vaccine antigens.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a team of Scientists and Research Associates to design and execute well-controlled molecular virology experiments and cell-based assays using cutting-edge techniques
• Analyze data to clearly summarize and communicate results
• Participate on multi-disciplinary teams and communicate results (presentations, reports)
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental protocols, data analysis, and research findings
• Keep physical samples and lab materials organized, and maintain inventories or critical reagents
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc degree in Virology, Biology, Cell Biology or a related field with 5+/3+ years of experience (industry experience preferred)
• Strong experience with mammalian cell culture and transfection, virus production/characterization, and flow cytometry
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with effective oral and written communication skills

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision

• Familiarity with the following would be considered a bonus: Molecular cloning, NGS methods, Benchling (or other ELN), GraphPad Prism and FlowJo software
