- Support the Environmantal, Health & Safety Manager (EHS Manager) and the Quality manager in the efficient maitenance, development and implementation of the site’s integrated Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Analyse relevant data, calulate and submit Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Coordinate and record training for employees
- Helps maintain suitable site security
- Acts as one of the Site Main Controller as required in case of fire or toxic gas event
What will you be doing?
The main responsibilities of the position are to;
- Assist in the maintenance, development and implementation of the site‘s SMS, QMS and EMS
- Develop and deliver training to site employees
- Coordinate a record training given
- Investigate Customer Complaints and internal non-conformances
- Perform daily checks and record data
- Collect and analyse data in order to generate results for required Key Performance Indicators
- Submit Key Performance Indicators for approval
- Perform internal audits, risk assessments and COSHH assessments
- Monitor and record the performance of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems
- Support external, 3rd party audits
- Generate information for quartely management system reviews and required statutory reporting
- Management of annual and any intermediate employee medical checks
- Collect and report data relating to use of packaging e.g Producer Responsibility Obligation and Plastics Packaging Tax
- Manage fire extiguisher servicing
- Perform site safety inductions for contractors and new employees
- Manage the competency management systm
- Manage employee training records for required competencies
- Generate waste consignment notes (when suitably trained)

You should also have some or possibly all, of the below qualifications or equivelent experience;
- NEBOSH general certificate in H&S or Environmental Management (or equivalent)
- NEBOSH Fire safety and risk assessment (or equivalent)
- NVQ 4 Occupational Health and Safety
- WAMMITAB
- NVQ4 Managing treatment of hazardous Waste
- Train the trainer: manual Handling
- Experience of working with Chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of working on a COMAH site (preferred)
- Experience of carrying out risk assessments (preferred)
- Experience carrying out internal audit programmes (preferred)
What competencies will you need?
To be effective in this position you should have;
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
