Job Title:

Job Summary:

To provide leadership and direction for operations and business development in assigned geographic/clinical specialty area to include budget preparation and administration, strategic planning, personnel management, billing and accounts receivable, and customer service. Serves as a strategic partner with local health systems team and works with UMMC department chairmen to support the goals of the area worked and further the mission of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Will provide additional leadership and guidance on the creation of further business development strategy and population health ventures in assigned areas.

Education & Experience

Master’s degree plus six (6) years of experience required.   Experience can be substituted for education.  Experience leading clinical operations within a physician practice setting.  For those who lead Children's of Mississippi areas, experience working with pediatric health networks and primary care preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of clinical operations within a physician practice setting. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Strong experience with business development and physician relations. Interpersonal and problem resolution skills. Ability to coordinate, direct, and evaluate clinical activities. Knowledge and skills in forecasting and developing budgets. Ability to successfully manage staff. Negotiation skills. Knowledge of billing and a/r. Knowledge of medical coding. Problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees clinical financial operations in assigned region. Maintains fiscal accountability throughout the development, implementation, and evaluation of annual operating and capital budgets and provides administrative direction in the formulation of goals and strategic plans.
  • Serves as leader in assigned market for clinical oversight and development. Will work with other entities in assigned geographical/clinical specialty area to foster enhanced referral patterns and business development opportunities including new and satellite clinics.
  • Manages clinical operations in multiple locations.  Responsible for developing consistent practices, standards and performance metrics across locations; consistent with other Children's/UMMC clinics.
  • Financial oversight over multi-site and multi-specialty clinics with an added emphasis on productivity, volume.  Liaison between UMMC and partner entities with accountabili
