POSITION SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is a licensed professional who provides patient care in accordance with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Respiratory Care Practitioner prioritizes patient needs, coordinates treatment plan and collaborates with other members of the patient care team to provide education and exercise programs for patients in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Desired:
- One year experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:
Minimum:
- Current licensure or work permit issued by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Current CPR recognition
- Recognized as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care within two years of employment (hired after 7/98) (RRT certifications obtained before 2002 are grandfathered by the State from expiration)
Desired:
- Membership in the California Society for Pulmonary Rehabilitation (CSPR)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family. Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Sufficient physical fitness is necessary to participate in all aspects of the exercise program.
