Rail Systems Specialist - Transit Signals

This opportunity entails being responsible for supporting rail projects in area of technical specialty which may include, positive train control, track/crossing design, office design, communications, onboard, signaling, OSC, and traction power systems.

What You'll Do:

• Supports transit and railroad projects at all stages from conceptual study and alternative analysis to final design, construction, and post-construction on-going related services.
• Assists with completion of rail engineering project elements such as bid documents including proposals and estimations, reports, designs, specifications and plans.
• Responsible for the design and calculation work for one or more of the following specialty areas: track design, signal systems, communication systems, OSC, traction power systems
• Performs site investigations and inspections that may include signal and communication system testing, field surveys, and field integration and functional testing practices using established methodologies on a live railroad.
• May write test plans and procedures for various rail or transit systems. Conducts basic troubleshooting as determined by site specific testing.
• Assists with operational analysis to determine run times of the system in various contingency scenarios.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 4 years of relevant experience, or
• In lieu of degree, 8 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to make sound decisions based on site field conditions
• RWP qualified or capable of receiving training
• Ability to work successfully and professionally with client contacts

What We Prefer:

• Railroad industry experience.
