About the Role
This intern position will support the Magna Exteriors Innovation Group in our Advanced Development Innovation Center in Auburn Hills. Projects may include evaluating new and existing technologies, product concept design and evaluation, and supporting new concept presentations and studies. This hands-on internship will allow the student to combine their creative thinking skills with their education and experience in engineering, plastics/materials, and/or manufacturing.
Your Responsibilities
•Primary projects – Exteriors system Concept Design / Technology Evaluation / Feasibility Testing
•Support of Fascia & Trim concept evaluation (basic electrical and materials knowledge is a +)
•Support of new product concept design presentations and technology studies
Who we are looking for
•Some related experience preferred.
•Creative Thinking skills in simplifying complicated information.
•Basic experience with CATIA or NX CAD software
•Experience with plastics materials processing and manufacturing is a +
Your preferred qualifications
•High School Diploma
•Currently Attending a college or University
•Preferred: Has completed at least one prior Summer Internship in related area of product engineering work.
•Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
•Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
•Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
•Some limited local driving to testing house and in-area supplier support facilities.
•Planned in-office work for majority of the week.
