We have an opening for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our Mexico expansion team, helping to spearhead the initial greenfield build of a new mobile finance app that aims to further our international growth.

We’re looking for someone excited by the idea of joining a small cross-functional product team with a startup mindset, operating within a successful and profitable Fintech business, to support the initial build of a new product offering for a new market.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable building relationships with other established product teams to understand where we can use existing learnings to influence decisions and align on approaches, collaborating with backend engineers to guide and agree API behaviours and expectations through documented contracts, and working closely with product designers to agree on MVP requirements.

You will need a strong track record of building and shipping React Native apps for both Android & iOS to be successful in this role, and written and spoken English at Level B2 or above is a must.

What we're looking for

• Written and spoken English at Intermediate (B2) level or above

• A solid understanding of modern Javascript with Typescript

• You have significant commercial experience with cross-platform native mobile app development using React Native

• You have a strong understanding of the different needs of mobile users across a variety of platforms and devices

• You’re an advocate for automated testing, and take a pragmatic approach to implementing and improving the various phases of the testing pyramid

• You can quickly identify and assess technical debt and are keen to make the case for remedying it whenever the opportunity arises

• You have a product mindset. Working with product owners to break down business requirements into deliverable tasks and estimate the complexity of their implementation. You can quickly identify the difficulties of implementing a feature from an initial design wireframe or outline spec and are comfortable putting forward alternative approaches where appropriate

• You take ownership of your work, ensuring progress by proactively communicating blockers, seeking feedback, and driving task
