Where you’ll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person. 

You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role in a nutshell:

As a Senior Product Designer at OVO, you'll be at the forefront of creating outstanding and easy-to-use experiences across all our products. You will lead key design initiatives, strategically develop our interaction patterns, and contribute to OVO's wider design vision. Your work will directly shape how users experience our products, influencing their success and helping to establish best design practices within OVO.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

• Deliver Superior Design Solutions: Achieve pixel-perfect design across all screens and platforms by implementing innovative UI/UX practices and refining design systems.
  
  
• Enhance User Experience: Lead usability studies and A/B testing, ensuring our products are intuitive and meet user needs.
  
  
• Ensure Cross-Platform Consistency: Develop and maintain consistent navigation systems and reusable components for scalability and coherence across platforms.
  
  
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide mentorship to junior designers while effectively collaborating with senior stakeholders and engineers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver User-Centred Designs: Create intuitive and effective design solutions for product initiatives, balancing user needs, business goals, and OVO's product vision, informed by data and commercial awareness.
  
  
• Develop and Maintain Design Systems: Contribute to OVO's design system by creating scalable components, interaction patterns, and clear microcopy, ensuring consistency and efficiency across our products.
  
  
• Champion Usability and Accessibility: Plan and conduct usability testing (including A/B tests), analyse findings to improve designs, and ensure our products feature clear navigation and information architecture that is accessible to all users.
  
  
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers throughout the design and development process, providing clear documentation and ensuring high-quality implementation of your designs.
