Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized Senior Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. This position is a key business partner to the Site Controller. This role will also have significant exposure to the Site Management Team. The Senior Accountant will assist with the development of annual operating plan, quarterly forecast, monthly estimates, product costings, variance analyses and the preparation of monthly financial statements. In this role, the Senior Accountant must be agile and able to seamlessly transition between cost accounting and financial accounting.
Job Description
- Responsible for Inventory including month end close, physical inventory, inventory control and reconciling inventory module to general ledger and other tasks related to inventory
- Maintain standard costing system, and update product bill of material in ERP system on a quarterly basis
- Responsible for AP including invoice review, assign to related categories, Work with corporate AP to investigate and clear exception list, Work with receiving and all other functions to ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Responsible for GRNI review and process improvements
- Responsible for Intercompany transactions ensuring we tie out with other sites, C-25/Corporate Ledger reconciliations
- Reconcile all Amex/P-Card receipts to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Responsible for month end close journal entries such as: Royalties, Rebates, Commissions, WIP, Inventory and any other entries assigned by the controller
- Publish operational daily reports to the site (Reports: Customer Owned Receipts, Month to Date Sales, Daily Labor reports)
- Responsible for AR, sending statements to our customers and reconcile payment discrepancies and disputes (Analyze and book bad debt based on aging)
- Responsible for calculating Cfin data, review with site leadership and corporate to ensure accuracy
- Develop accurate Chromm Clock reporting to determine costs of labor to our Cfin data
- File Sales & Use Tax monthly basis
- Support Projections, Budgets and Monthly Financial reporting
- Support Annual External Audit, recommend and implement process improvements; Liaise with external auditors regarding costing and valuing inventory
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Hiring Range: $85,700 - $112,560
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting, and 5+ years cost accounting experience
- G/L, A/R, A/P, Data Entry and daily accounting function responsibility
- Inventory variance analysis
- Strong administrative, accounting and math skills
- Ability to work closely with site/regional team members and thrive in a team environment. Also, able to work independently when needed
- Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions
- Well organized, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with strict deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Word
- Oracle, AS400, Chromm ERP systems is a plus but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
