This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

This full-time, third-shift refrigeration maintenance position is for Tyson Foods - Vernon, Texas, location. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all refrigeration/HVAC equipment. Position will work with scissor lifts, scaffolds, industrial pallet jacks and various chemicals and lubricants and will be responsible for welding, soldering, and assembling equipment.

Requirements:

• Must have refrigeration/HVAC and electrical experience.
• Must be willing and able to be available as a member of our emergency response team.
• Must have a minimum work history of 12 consecutive months in refrigeration maintenance related field in the previous 18 months.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Related refrigeration maintenance certification preferred but not required.
• Must be out of probation period.
• Must not have more than 4.0 attendance points.
• No written warnings or suspensions in the last 6 months
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Selected candidate will be given a 2-week trial period.
• Selected candidate must maintain 4.0 points or less prior to transferring into job.
• Must submit a resume.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to stand and walk the entire shift.
• Must be willing and able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts.
• Must be willing and able to reach with hands and arms; climb; stoop or bend.
• Must be willing and able to lift to 70 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Must be willing and able to work in non-weather humidity, cold, and heat.
