Department Overview
The IT Operations Tools Team is responsible for overseeing IT Operations Management tools within PG&E. These responsibilities include planning, design, implementation, configuration, maintenance and operations.
To help manage the company’s Telecommunications Network Infrastructure, the company uses the Telecom Network Portal (TNP) as a centralized collection point for information related to the telecommunications circuits and facilities that we operate for our clients. The TNP is supported by our IT Operations Tools team.
The TNP supports PG&E’s mission to build the Energy Network of the future. The TNP provides a flexible, cost-efficient telecommunications circuit network management platform that will be a core circuit management component of the PG&E Energy Network. This technology platform must be capable of storing and managing all current and expected future types of telecommunication circuit network data for asset management, failure analysis, change impact analysis, design/modeling analysis, and situational awareness analysis.
Position Summary
This position is for an IT Product Specialist, Senior, who will be responsible for the delivery and support of the TNP.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000

California Minimum: $108,000
California Maximum: $173,000
Responsibilities
- Relationship Mapping for Telecom Assets
- Development of Configuration Item (CI) views, policies, and reports
- Provide guidance to both business and technical customer liaisons on configuration management best practices and guidelines
- Development of Discovery automated methods for keeping models up to date and accurate
- Perform patching and code deployments across all environments
- Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Perform technical mentoring and cross training with other team members
- Perform daily production support activities
- Provide mentoring and training to other TNP Administrators / Users
- Analyze the impact of Clearances, prepare circuits for updating, update circuits after a successfully completed Clearance, and report out to responsible parties for the Clearance
- Review newly created and updated circuits for accuracy. Make corrections when needed. Add Approvers and Notifications lists to new circuits to create the base list for scheduled Clearances
- Consult with Telecom Engineers on their projects and create paths for their circuits based on drawings, spreadsheets, word documents, etc. Work with Network Specialist in resolving transmission path issues. Provide support to Telecom Technicians to update circuits.
- Adapt new hardware terminologies, system, and service references after consulting with Product Managers
- Support initiatives and new processes that add value
- Perform daily health checks
- Perform general maintenance

- Troubleshoot tools infrastructure
- Support ENOC escalations for monitoring related incidents
