Network Engineer - Lead

About the role
The Network Engineer Lead provides support, maintenance and management of complex solutions that span across multiple enterprise technical streams. The role will have a primary focus of enterprise networking support with an awareness of overall datacenter principles and technologies. This position will be a team-lead and the main contact point for technical topics with the primary estate owner and all supporting technical resources globally.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring that support, maintenance and configuration work and projects adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices.
- Providing advanced technical experience for complex troubleshooting and network maintenance work, including functional subsystem upgrades for mission-critical network devices and services as well as strategic upgrades to the network.
- Providing advanced expertise in the development of network test, validation, and integration plans on projects, and assurance of network integrity.
- Supporting and maintaining complex networks.
- Effectively designing and communicating engineering solutions or proposals through detailed high- and low-level diagrams.
- Maintaining Incident and change tracking cadence via ITSM platform as well as communicating with primary estate owners.
What you have
- 7+ years of professional experience with large enterprise datacenter environments.
- Professional networking certifications a plus (i.e. CCNP/CCIE or equivalent).
- Solid Understanding of the OSI model, routing and switching protocols, network security, IPv4 networking, subnetting, and operational experience. (Cisco enterprise networking mandatory).
- Experience with multiple wireless vendor designs and deployments (Cisco mandatory).
- Hands-on technical skills, including complex configuration, troubleshooting, code upgrades and installation of enterprise networking equipment.
- Proven experience in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers in advanced technology deployments.
- Understand and maintain Service Level Agreement goals.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
