JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Operations will provide strategic leadership and management for the Penn State Berks Athletics Department. This 10-month position is responsible for effectively managing athletic facilities, event operations, and intramural programming. The role also includes supervising the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center and serving as a sports administrator for select programs.  This is an FTE position with Penn State. Full time benefits are included.

Key Responsibilities 

70% Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Operations 

  • Oversee athletics facilities, ensuring proper upkeep and maintenance in coordination with campus maintenance teams. 

  • Collaborate with coaches to develop and manage practice schedules, ensuring timely entry into the campus-wide scheduling database. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visiting teams during home games and for external groups utilizing athletic facilities. 

  • Recruit, hire, and supervise student workers for home athletic events. 

  • Manage departmental equipment, serving as the liaison with equipment suppliers. 

  • Provide leadership as the sports administrator for assigned athletic programs, ensuring policy compliance and fostering program development. 

20% Supervisor of Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center 

  • Oversee all aspects of the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. 

  • Recruit, hire, and schedule part-time staff, including student workers and professional employees. 

  • Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate supervision during operational hours. 

  • Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during daily operations.
