Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><u><strong>The role</strong></u></p><p>The Identity and Access Management team is responsible for enabling seamless and secure access for our customers to the Checkout Ecosystem. Our Engineers on the team will have the unique opportunity to be involved and interface with teams across Checkout while also developing deep domain experience in the Identity and Access space. We’re a growing team in a central and critical area within the company, and we are looking for individuals who value accountability, attention to detail, and are comfortable converting big problems into smaller iterations to consistently deliver value.</p><p>We're on the look out for an expert front-end engineer to lead front-end development for the team, working closely with backend engineers to build out comprehensive and secure access solutions for our customers whilst developing and encouraging best practices for development. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and continuously improve our merchants’ experience while collaborating with various performance-driven departments like Design and Product.</p><p>You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a growing team, iterate on the architecture, technology and design, as well as build the next generation of Identity and Access products. Our domain impacts each and every user on the Checkout Platform and you'll be able to closely interact with the end customers we serve. You’ll also get the chance to setup, build and work with micro-frontend applications and contribute to our internal component library and design system.</p><p>Our tech stack consists of Typescript with React, Webpack, React Testing Library and Styled Components. We follow modern CI/CD and agile methodologies to deploy into production several times a week.</p><p>You'll be part of a diverse team that is passionate about offering all of our users a great Checkout.com experience. What we offer in return is a great international workplace, where we make sure everyone’s voice is heard, where we encourage innovative and diverse ideas, providing a supportive environment to grow and develop further</p><p><u><strong>How you’ll make an impact</strong></u></p><ul><li>Steer front-end development within the team</li><li>Mentor and support other Engineers</li><li>Drive the development of new features</li><li>Collaborate with the Product Team discovering the best solution to our users.</li><li>Show off your code review, debugging, and refactoring skills, taking advantage of opportunities to improve the codebase</li><li>Build interactive UI (including animations) and improve UX across the board</li><li>Work with Squad in discussing new requirements and defining contracts</li><li>Participate in regular showcases of new work to the product owners and business stakeholders</li><li>Promote continuous improvement within the team</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><u><strong>What we’re looking for </strong></u></p><ul><li>An interest in leading a front-end development team and a strong sense of ownership</li><li>Proven experience with JavaScript or Typescript and React or Next.js</li><li>Experience with CSS-in-JS or other similar libraries, ideally Styled Components</li><li>Proficient understanding of semantic HTML, accessibility, and CSS principles</li><li>Experience with test automation and TDD methodology</li><li>Experience optimising front-end performance</li><li>Experience with responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility</li><li>Previous experience working with a design system, building reusable components</li><li>Good grasp of web-related tech (HTTP, TLS, proxies, REST API conventions)</li><li>Curious and unafraid of digging deeper to understand how systems of all kinds work</li><li>Knowledge of or experience building micro-frontends applications is a bonus!</li></ul><h3
