As an Accounting Associate Sr within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PAThe Accounting Associate Sr. will play a key role in supporting PNC's Reserve Reporting team, focusing on the analysis, reporting, and governance of Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) reserves and provisions. This position combines financial reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and regulatory support responsibilities, providing exposure to enterprise-wide financial processes and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include supporting quarterly reserve and provision reporting, analyzing financial data for trends and accuracy, preparing earnings release and SEC filing materials, conducting variance analysis between reserve systems and ledger results, and assisting with Reserve Adequacy Committee activities. The role also supports ongoing automation efforts, application enhancements, and acquisition-related activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and financial reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking capabilities, and effective communication skills. Experience working with large data sets and financial systems is highly valued, particularly within applications such as Wdesk, CCL, TOAD, Teradata, Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, and advanced Excel.
As part of a highly collaborative team of finance professionals, this individual will gain hands-on experience with CECL reporting and reserve analytics while building a strong foundation in financial reporting and regulatory processes. The role offers significant visibility across the organization and has historically provided opportunities for expanded responsibilities, career growth, and advancement within Finance and other areas of the bank.
This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and requires an onsite presence five days per week. Job Description
- Provides accounting, reporting and analytical expertise in support of a business function or business unit.
- Provides specialized accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company.
- Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use.
- Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and appropriate audit work papers, and the reconciliation of accounts for such activities. These activities may relate to bank accounting, loans and investments, deposits, tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting.
- Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
